Her Latest Book: Social-Emotional Learning and the Brain

Every child has a story. I am hoping this book will help rewrite some of those stories and reinforce others. The path is clear: build relationships so a child feels love and a sense of belonging, teach empathy so a child feels understood and can provide understanding, make a child self-aware so that feelings are understood, help a child regulate feelings in order to have and use prosocial skills, support a child in order to become skilled at being socially aware to build an understanding of how to interact with people, teach a child how to handle relationships in order to work and play with people who have various backgrounds and cultures, and finally teach a child how to choose and make wise decisions that will impact the future.
